ADT to Protect the Ascari Race Resort

The Ascari Race Resort is the world's first holiday complex to bring together relaxation and motor racing

CCTV cameras, access control, anti-intrusion systems and fire detection systems will protect the hotel, farmhouse and circuit, monitoring the security of visitors and the motor racing circuit

The Ascari Race Resort, located near Ronda (Malaga), has chosen ADT, Europe's leading provider of electronic fire and security solutions, to equip its premises with the latest electronic security systems. To protect the complete hotel and leisure complex, which covers about 174 hectares, ADT will install a sophisticated security solution consisting of closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems, access control systems, an anti-intrusion system and fire detection systems.

Both the farmhouse and the hotel will have a CCTV system installed which will help to ensure the security of visitors and the management of the premises. ADT’s Intellex® digital video management system will allow 24-hour recording and intelligent image management and can be used to monitor the flow of people around the complex, use event alarms to draw attention to potential incidents, search for past events and monitor communal areas and other parts of the hotel and farmhouse.

Protecting the motor racing circuit

The resort is the world's first holiday complex to include a motor racing circuit, which has 26 bends and is 5,425 metres in length. The circuit, the longest in Spain, brings together versatility and speed and can be laid out in six different ways, which means a number of activities at different levels of skill can take place simultaneously.

ADT will install a security system around the perimeter of the whole circuit which will combine footprint sensors with thermal imaging cameras to limit access to restricted areas. In order to maximise the drivers’ security, fixed and mobile cameras will also be placed at various points around the track, alerting staff to accidents or the presence of unauthorised people on the circuit. In the same way, the CCTV system will also monitor maintenance areas, boxes, pit lanes and the control tower.

The access control system will help to manage workforce and customer access to the various areas around the circuit through the use of cards and readers. The system will record when each customer enters and leaves, and may be used to find out usage and billing levels. The solution is complemented by anti-intrusion systems in some areas around the circuit such as offices, rooms, restaurants, etc.

The entire system will be controlled from the resort’s control centre, which will use ADT's Intellex® digital video management system.

“The Ascari Race Resort provides its customers with a unique facility, and the ability to enjoy motor racing on the largest circuit in Spain. This facility also brings together the comfortable surroundings and quality of our premises, located right out in the countryside in this part of Andalucía,” says Melchor Durán, Manager of the Ascari Race Resort. “With ADT's help, we will be able to maximise the levels of protection and security, in order to create a quiet atmosphere where visitors can enjoy motor racing with the utmost security.”

Ignacio Cuenca, Marketing Manager for ADT Spain and Portugal, concludes: “The Ascari Race Resort is a unique complex of exceptional quality. We have designed an equally unique electronic security solution which fully meets the requirements of the complex, providing both protection and security for the motor racing circuit and resort as well as information to help manage the premises.”
